Resolution: Check the resolution is appropriate to your needs. Resolution of digital images is measured in pixels. If you need to print the image in a physical format you will need a higher resolution image. If you are unsure of your needs ask your designer or printer for advise before you buy. The Artists/Photographer is likely to ask for a higher price for images with a high resolution:

Digital Resolution is measured in: PPI - Pixels Per Inch (an inch is 2.5cm)
Print Resolution is measured in: DPI - Dots Per Inch.
For all intensive purposes DPI & PPI are the same. Here are some examples:
300 dpi This is used for very high quality printing such as glossy magazines.
150 dpi This is used for photo quality ink jet printing
100 dpi This is suitable for most home or office printing needs
72 ppi The is used for images published to the internet
60 dpi This is used for large printing such as bus stop posters.
20 dpi This is used for large scale bill boards.
The above image at 3072 x 2304 ppi could be printed in a glossy magazine where the image measured 10 x 7 inches (25 x 17.5cm) or on a large scale bill board where the image measured 153 x 115 inches (384 x 288cm).
