iSnapChat and Copyright Issues

Many people have asked about iSnapChats copyright policy and although we are still formulating our final policy we have decided to give you an overview:

Copyright & Facebook
Facebook recently changed its terms and conditions to ‘we own everything forever’ policy and there was such an out cry that they went back to the old terms almost immediately! They are now in the process of rethinking their terms and conditions including copyright and have promised to come up with something more palatable!

Copyright & iSnapChat
iSnapChat will have it’s own copyright agreement and users will be able to select different levels of copyright for each individual image uploaded. This puts you, the user, in control. We will publish the full detail of this soon.

Copyright Facebook & iSnapChat
Because images that you upload to iSnapChat can be placed on people's Facebook profile wall and newsfeed ... both Facebook & iSnapChat copyrights should be taken into consideration.

Sharing & iSnapChat
Sharing is essential to the iSnapChat Gallery concept. The program is designed to link into Facebook and will take full advantage of the many ways that enable images to spread from friend to friend. Users will be able to display your work on their Facebook Wall, in their iSnapChat albums and other locations, promoting the artist’s artwork and keeping the connection back to the artist’s iSnapChat gallery and profile. As the work spreads you will collect new fans and will be able to communicate with your fans directly.

There are other tools (which for commercial reasons we cannot discuss yet) that are also based on this sharing premise and will enable users to share their work with many many new people (not just friends) and participate in conversations with these users! This creates an extremely powerful set of promotional tools and goes way beyond anything that is possible at present.
